On a day much like today
I walked the streets to see things straight
head down counting cracks in the pavement
my peripherals and a figure met
a withered frame with a staggered stride
worn out hands matched his callused eyes
all he carried was a bottle in a paper bag
giving the poison in forgetting the life he has
when our eyes met as we walked on by
he locked me on for what seemed like an infinite time
he let me peer down into his soul
all I saw was regrets and a life sized hole!
it got me thinking.
they say time heals all wounds
but what if time itself was the sword!
they say time heals all
but could time be the killer of us all
are we living a life of regrets
is our last supper stale and leaving behind bitterness! are we leaving with nothing but food for the worms or will we go with a best suit of self worth
